The Latest On The Lighthouse Project

from Sandra Pettie of Newsday,

Although most of the questioning was polite, the developers - New York Islanders owner Charles Wang and developer Scott Rechler - appeared frustrated and at times ill-prepared for the questions about traffic, height of buildings and whether the developers would sell off parts of the project.

Newsday’s account of the hearing is grossly inaccurate.  (Remember, Newsday is owned by Dolan/Cablevision, which also owns the Rangers.)  For a true account of what went on, go to Chris Botta’s islanderspointblank.com or his article on Fanhouse.  Chris was in attendance all day, spoke to the parties during breaks and afterward, and is well versed in what has been going on with the LH project.

Islesfan is 100# correct. Linking to that trash on Newsday will do nothing but mislead people. I was there from start to finish, I know what I saw and heard- and it does NOT resemble the article allegedly done by Sandra Peddie (but actually written by Eden Laiken according to Peddie herself.)
