As we get closer to deciding which teams will make the top 8 in each conference, it is important to note the games remaining for the teams still in the playoff hunt.

Detroit has 5 games against Columbus and Edmonton. Oh yeah.
and 2 against Nashville, and one more against Calgary. that’s 8 of the remaining 15 games - but they’re 4-point games. if the Wings can win against those teams and go .500 against the rest, they’re playoff-bound.

yeah they’ve got a mountain to climb with games against San Jose (2), Anaheim, Chicago, and Vancouver (2).
