The Return Of Franzen

from Ansar Khan of Mlive,
The points-starved Detroit Red Wings aren’t expecting power forward Johan Franzen to be their savior when he returns to the lineup Tuesday in St. Louis after a four-month absence due to a torn knee ligament.
“We’ll give him one game before he can save us,” teammate Kris Draper said with a laugh. “No pressure.”
They joke, but they are excited to welcome back one of the NHL’s top goal-scorers the past couple of seasons. This injury-riddled team that has had trouble generating offense, both even-strength and on the power play, needs Franzen’s finishing touch.

Awesome.
If the Mule is not our saviour, why do I have an altar of him in my house? Explain THAT.

Nobody can save your team. Regular season ends without a playoff berth is how it’s looking for you.

Franzen will be a HUGE boost to the Wings. Barring any other significant injury, this should put them over the hump and get them to the second season AND make them dangerous once there. As is always the case, the game is better when the talent is on the ice, not on the IR. He immediately makes them a better, more confident team and vastly improves the PP. One guy does not make a whole team, but Detroit fans should be very excited about the remaining games.
While not a Red Wings fan, the playoffs would definitely not be the same without the Wings and their great fans.
