There’s Room For One “I” In Jaromir

from Sherry Ross of the NY Daily News,
Now that Jaromir Jagr appears to be one bad haircut away from a Britney Spears moment, we have to ask: What do the Rangers do now? And, are we really surprised that he has become the Blueshirts’ version of Alex Rodriguez?...
Then again, maybe he is the perfect captain for the Rangers, the symbol of everything that has gone wrong with the team’s philosophy since a different captain carried the Cup 13 years ago.

The most hilarious thing about all this is the miscreants in hockey are so pathetic when compared to other sports.
A-Rod has NEVER come up big in the playoffs and is so concerned about not offending anyone and being liked that every statement he makes has the spontaneity of a speech run past five focus groups and edited based on the greatest standard of blandness. And if you want self-centered moody superstar, the place to look is Boston with Manny Ramirez, the world’s biggest four-year-old kid. Jagr can’t even compete with that. Similarly, Sean Avery gets ripped for acting like a jerk, and as stupid as his comments are, he isn’t even in the same clown league as t.o. in Dallas. And for gunplay outside nightclubs, there is no place like the NBA. Hockey players are in general pretty good citizens in the public eye. Other sports have stars that are so much more dysfunctional.
