THN Ranks San Jose #1 In The West

from The Hockey News,
The defending Presidents’ Trophy winners, despite their inability to cash in in the playoffs, are a good bet to repeat as regular season champs after a summer of little roster turnover. Look for sophomore bench boss Todd McLellan to have his troops better prepared for the stretch run, where they struggled badly in 2008-09.

Detroit 4th. I think that’s a little low. I don’t see Vancouver or Chcago higher. But maybe Calgary ? It’s only the regular season rankings though.
Also, they got Kane ranked 34th among players, with Toews out of the top 50 after being 40th last year.
I think Toews has it all over Kane.

A lion for the regular season, a lamb in the play-offs. Why does the Canadian media love this team so much? Is because of some infatuation with heartless slug, Joe Thornton? This captain-less team will be a carbon copy of last year…doomed to fail.

They also have The Crapitals 2nd in the East & the Pens 3rd , What the hell has Wash. done to improve ?? They lost Fedorov & Kozlov & Ovechkin STILL WON’T Play defense
THN is worthless anymore, It’s a shame

Sharks are a great team, but it’s time to stop predicting them to do anything worthy.

1) I’m a Sharks fan and 2) I love most of the stuff in the THN yearbook but I’ve started just to ignore (or roll my eyes) at the season predictions across the board. A bunch of rosters still aren’t set, major free agents are still out there, and you can’t predict injuries, trades, etc. I know it’s kind of a requirement for these types of magazines but I think it’s kind of a pointless exercise.
