from Pierre LeBrun at Sportsnet,
Just the NHL’s luck to have three second-round playoff series go into the toilet, eh?
The interest level will go down dramatically now that we have three of the four series at 3-0. Canadians have endured a long, hard winter, one of the worst in years in some parts, and given the option between watching a 3-0 series play out to its inevitable end or to go out and enjoy a beautiful spring day/evening, I think you all know what most fans will do.
And it’s a pity, because the hockey in these playoffs has been terrific.

Real hockey fans will still go to games or watch the games on television.

Hang on a sec, didn’t the Canadiens’ fans boo the US anthem in the Bruins series? Where’s the outrage and repeated articles on that, or even a mention in the same context as Philly fans booing the Canadian anthem? Is it wrong to boo an anthem, yes, but be a responsible journalist and give both sides of the story.

What kind of ignorant fans turn their team support into anti-Canada rants? Heck, Pittsburgh is playing against New York! Half the teams’ rosters grew up in Canada.
Next thing, they will be ranting ani-Sweden stuff when they play the Red Wings.
Then there is the Montreal crowd who took advantage of a celebration and burned police cars. Is there no end to the stupidity?
