Chris Osgood was asked to comment but he could not hear the question, as his Stanley cup rings were in his ears.

Yeah, really, not sure about this list… doesn’t even bother me that much that Ozzie isn’t on the list, but is Marty still the best goalie in the league? Top 5, no doubt. Even top 3. But come on, over Lundqvist and Luongo at this stage in their careers?

And how is a guy like J.S. Giguere so low on that list when he’s won a Cup and nearly single-handedly carried a mediocre team to another one? Is Nabakov really better than him? Is Nabakov better than Kipper, who has carried arguably less talented teams than those Nabakov has been a part of farther?

And is DiPietro really top 10? I know he’s on a horrible team and so his numbers don’t show how good he really is… but come on, winning is part of it, and he just doesn’t have the Ws to stack up with the rest of the names on this list.

And for crying out loud, Marty Turco doesn’t belong any higher than 9 or 10 on a list like this until he beats the Red Wings.

Plenty to laugh about in that list, but this really got me:

Arguably the best American goalie in the league, Dipietro has an impressive resume in the NHL.

What exactly is ‘impressive’ about his resume? That sixth place in SV% in ‘07 isn’t exactly mind blowing. And I’d certainly argue that Miller, Thomas, and perhaps even Conklin are better American goalies.

I’d also like to know who voted on this.....
Don’t care Ozzie isn’t on the list, but c’mon some of these guys haven’t proven SQUAT other than they are better than the team they play for, or they can get themselves into the playoffs and that’s about it.
Top ten can be looked at an awful lot of ways or quantified in alot of ways, there’s no mention of what was used to quantify them. Wins n losses? Skills? Salary? Championships?
Artificial ratings mean nothing, performance means an awful lot more.
And wasn’t Bobby Lou supposed to quit if the NHL changed pad sizes or net size? Whineass.........

Until someone has physical proof that Martin Broduer has somehow dipped in skill, he deserves the #1 spot.  He consistently plays huge minutes, and wins.

The list was pretty solid I thought for the top 10.  Giguere could have been with Kipper for 4/5, but it rounded them out pretty good.

and Osgood, while a good goalie in Detroit, would probably not be a starter on 25 other teams.  He’s adequete for Detriot.  hell, with the D-men they have, I’d probably be adequete for them.  Maybe even Conklin! smile
