So now John Tortorella has made it clear he wants the title of Ranger team captain as well as the ones of head coach and travel director he already owns.
He has made it clear that he not only wants to control what the players do on and off the ice, but also wants to correct what they think.
He tells the players to claim ownership of the locker room, but then simply repossesses it when he dislikes something one of the athletes says.

As much as I dislike Tortorella, with every article Brooks writes he sounds increasingly more like a whiny six-year-old.

Brooks is a joke. Its unfortunate for Torts that he has no friends in the media - his own fault, true - because he has NO ONE willing to go to bat for him.

Brooks makes its sound like Torts has been studying and implementing the Obama Health Care Manifesto.

You know what you’re getting with Tortorella. It’s not HIS fault that he basically inherited a team of huge egos and no talent. As much as players might dislike him for the control issues he DOES mold players. See: Richards (Brad), St. Louis, and Lecavalier. Hell, the guy even got a stanley cup winning caliber season out of friggin Khabibulin.

Tortorella doesn’t do himself any favors benching Avery who, despite being a complete jackass, is one of about four Rangers who want to win and play that way.
