Toskala Done for the Season

According to TSN, Vesa Toskala is said to be done for the rest of the season. He’s been placed on IR and hip and groin surgery which will make him unavailable for the next 4 months.
Related: Martin Gerber picked up by the Leafs earlier today.

I’m not surprised Toskala is hurt. He was nailed pretty good last night.

But just imagine the hilarity that would ensue with Toskalol as Detroit’s starting goaltender!
If he’s been hurt, then why was Toronto starting him for the last week? Forget tanking - he should have been recuperating from his injuries.
