Tough Talk From Staff Writer

from Al Balderas of Ducks Blog at the OC Register,

What happened to all of that talk about ending the series in six games? What happened to all of that chatter about taking a Game 7 mentality on the ice for Game 6? The Red Wings spent part of Monday afternoon talking about the danger and unpredictability of Game 7s. As a result, they said, it was vitally important to end the series in six games. Then they went out and got their wings handed to them.

If Tuesday night’s performance was indicative of the Red Wings’ Game 7 mentality, they should have stayed at their Disneyland Resort hotel instead of flying back to Detroit.

As bad as things went on Tuesday, the Red Wings on Wednesday were among the few people on earth who can fly into Detroit and actually enjoy the view.

Can you blame them?

Just end this series so we don’t have to read or listen to any more California ‘hockey writers’, whose knowledge of the sport would be an embarrassment to anyone over the age of seven born north of the Mason Dixon Line.

I mean, this team was named after a friggin’ Disney movie.

Not that I really give a sh*t because, really, sportswriters are generally the fat kids who got picked last in gym class and regularly took dodge balls to the face for most of their childhoods, but regardless of the outcome of the Wings-Ducks series, has anyone ever in their entire lives witnessed more childish, unprofessional “journalism” than what’s emanating from the Orange County media during this series?

Seriously…it’s like reading articles and blog posts written exclusively by the 12-year-olds that populate Puck Daddy.

As much as I hate Detroit sportswriters, I cannot possibly imagine any of them stooping as ridiculously low as the SoCal media has in this series. It’s like reading a f*cking middle school newsletter.

Ducks won a fuc*ing cup within the past 5 years, I don’t care if they were a disney team; better pedigree than the Kings, Sharks, and most west coast teams.

Exactly - and toss in that they advanced to another final series recently, why are the writers that cover them so immature?  “Middle school” is right. They are a successful team - they should have higher quality writing, not something that gets me looking for a red pen to start scribbling all over the article.

Just one more reason to hate “the team that Emilio built” not only are they mindless goons and fraternity drop-outs, but they’re covered by the biggest joke of a writing staff…someone set the bar pretty low for staff jobs at the OC register.

I HATE THE DUCKS (AND THEIR WRITERS), I HATE THE DUCKS (AND THEIR WRITERS), I HATE THE DUCKS (AND THEIR WRITERS).

As badly written an article as you’ll find out there. On the other, hand at least he didn’t lift it from something he did years ago like the Delicate Genius did.

Lets Go Red Wings!!!!!

As a Ducks fan, I’ll just say that as a general rule, Al Balderas is a piece of trash tainting a generally strong blog.  He also penned such stupidities as “Does the NHL need the Blue Jackets?” and I think would rather stir useless controversy than do any actual reporting.
