Tyson Nash Gets Tryout With Lightning

Tyson Nash, who has not played in the NHL since his two-season stint ended with the Coyotes in 2006, will get a tryout next month with the Tampa Bay Lightning.
“I’m gonna give it one more last kick at the can,” he said…..
“You know, they’re an older club that wants to win now, and they’re building for today,” he said. “From what I can see out there, they have spots, they want a real competitive training camp, and they’re giving me an opportunity. I’m very appreciative of it.”

Do the Lightning plan on forcing the forwards who don’t get spots to play defense? How many forwards do the Lightning now have, or trying out for spots, in their organization? Starting to get a little ridiculous here.

Oh, wait, NHL teams only have four forward lines.
Seriously, this is getting ridiculous. Doesn’t he realize the Lightning are way overloaded on forwards, and even though Melrose loves unskilled tough guys like Nash, he has almost zero chance of jumping over 6 or 7 solid NHLers to grab the 12th forward spot?
