from Jeff Gordon at Fox Sports,
But there is a fair amount of intrigue surrounding potential UFAs. General managers have three choices: Sign them to an extension (ala Lidstrom), trade them (ala Doug Weight) or play them out and reevaluate come summer time.
Here are 10 potential unrestricted free agents that franchises need to keep:
Marian Hossa, W, Thrashers: He won’t re-up unless he is convinced Don Waddell has this franchise rolling in the right direction.

Kukla’s Korner is always a free service for readers, but it costs some money to maintain. If you’re ever in a position to donate a few dollars to help out, we’d be very appreciative.

There is NO WAY Roszival is worth $5 mil a year! Yes, the Rangers should probably re-sign him, especially because they’re unlikely to keep Mara, Malik and Strudwick so they need to keep a veteran d-man (he’s the best of them, anyway). He might be the Rangers’ #1 d-man in terms of minutes, but the pairing of Tyutin-Girardi seems to have become the Rangers’ #1 pair. It doesn’t make sense to give Roszival that kind of money.
