As the quarter point of the season approaches, it’s a reasonable time to take a look back at the moves of the summer to get an indication which transactions helped and which ones hurt their respective teams.
We’re not going to look at the guys that re-signed with their current teams, maintaining the status quo. Rather, the focus will be on the transactions that saw players change teams....
Red Wings sign LW Marian Hossa to a one-year, $7.45-million contract (10-13-23, plus-8 in 18 GP)
Leaving the Cup finalists to join the defending Cup champions, Hossa hasn’t disappointed at all, playing on the league’s best line with Pavel Datsyuk and Tomas Holmstrom.
