Update From The JLA

Many more Pens fans are at the Joe than last year.

Be prepared for a lot of towel waving.

They won’t need them for waving. They’ll need them to sop up all their tears when they’re little baby boys get the diaper-swaddled butts handed to them tonight. smile

Even with the Pens fans, the Joe looks half empty.
How embarrassing…

That’s because they were all at the concession stand getting beers to celebrate kicking the Pens sorry asses tonight, AvsRock.

And, seriously, you actually have the balls to post something using a name like “AvsRock”? So, please tell us exactly what it is that the Avs rock? We’re all dying to know.

Avs rock the cellar.

No one can make any jokes that the Avs fans haven’t already made folks.
We know the Avs sucked hard this year. Try to make a joke that we haven’t heard yet.  I dare ya.  It will give the Wings fans something to do while you’re not at the game.  Did the Pens fans take up your seats?

Was that harsh?  No, not really.  Well I don’t think it’s anything worse than I’ve read regarding the Avs fans at least.  Not to mention, I could be worse.

I do think it’s ironic that fans of a team full of turtles nicknames the Avs “the dive”.  I would think that the Joe would sell out for a Stanley Cup final game….I guess that’s asking too much from the “fans”...

Oh well, congrats to the Oscar nominated Detroit Red Wings!!

The Avs rock a top 5 draft pick, they’re becoming a model franchise.  Just think, in 4 years time we’ll be watching NHL adverts with an Avs fan in a Duchene jersey view highlights of their latest playoff loss to the wings though a fake set of boards.

I think it actually makes sense that there would be more Penguins fans than last year.

Last year Pittsburgh was a little new to the playoffs, and there was no way for fans to know how well they would do.  This year the playoffs are a more known quantity, and the fans have every right to expect their team to do better against Detroit this year.  Where last year a fan considering a road trip might have dismissed the idea because he or she figured the Penguins would likely lose, this year they might be more likely to travel because they might be more likely to see a win.

Logical.

And the seats looked plenty full during the middle of the game after everyone came back from getting food and beverages.  I actually haven’t noticed a single rink anywhere that looks full from the start of the game - no matter how full it is later on.

Meh, we know the Avs are in a slump.  They probably will be for a few years.
Of course, I don’t think the slump will be as long as the one the Wings suffered from ‘67 to ‘82.

I just hope they fire whoever the trainer is and the medical staff.  We were icing the Lake Erie Monsters for the last two seasons.
