I was hoping that Canada would come out harder given that they lost their preliminary against the US.

At least there’s a lot of things to take as positives from this tournament as a whole, what with the upsets and all.  We’re slowly getting more competition in the women’s game, and that can do nothing but good things for it.

Congrats to Team USA for a well-deserved victory. Some of my fellow Canadians might not share this opinion but I think this is a good thing for women’s hockey, as it hasn’t been good for the sport for Canada to have been so dominant for so long.

Here’s hoping some more countries can also start winning this tournament as it’s almost exclusively a two country sport so far.
