Ease tension - are you effing daft? We hated those pricks and any Canadian my age (over 50) or older still hates them to this day. At any international tournament, it’s not really about the gold for us, it’s about beating them. There are so many subplots to this - the Russian referees, the systematic phone calls to players rooms all night, the tainting of the food, interference from Russian soldiers and so on and they still claim that they won the series because they scored more goals in total.
