Video- Foot Stomp Or Not?

Bobby Ryan on Jonathan Blum tonight.
Some people are asking for the NHL to review the play. In my opinion, Ryan was attempting to get him to move the puck and I don’t think it was an attempt to injure.

Never give a Duck the benefit of the doubt.

Have to disagree, Paul. If you’re trying to get someone to move the puck and want to use your skate, nudge their skate in a parallel-to-the-ice kicking motion.
That was a perpendicular-to-the-ice stomping motion. Absolutely unacceptable to use your skate that way, and he should probably get a game out of it.

Yep, fully agree with RedMenace…I’m pretty sure that qualifies as a textbook definition of a foot stop.
And I can claim zero bias against the Ducks because…well, I hate both teams equally.

Looks like a deliberate stomp to me.
Lets Go Red Wings!!!!!

It’s a stomp and Ryan should be punished.
Like said above, if you want to make the puck move, you can kick at his skate with the toe of yours. Stomping atop his foot with the blade of your skate is a Duck Moveā¢

I’m not sure, Paul. Ryan had a good view of exactly what he was doing, and everyone was braced in position.
I’ve gone through two seasons of ambivalence towards Ryan, thinking he’s not the typical Duck, just a highly skilled kid that likes to hit. It seems like he’s started on the path to true Duckdom, spending too much time with Perry and co.

The ONLY thing with a worse reputation than Holmstrom’s butt is a Duck with an intent to injure.
Give the whole damn team a 2 game suspension and send a message!

I must be really naive. Are guys really that eager to win that they would do something that stupid & jeopardize their opportunity to participate in every game of a play off run? Is it eagerness or something else?

Sorry, Paul: That was a blatant stomp. Helen Keller would have heard and seen that.

I agree that he was trying to get him to move the puck and it wasn’t an attempt to injure, but it was a dangerous play. Kick from the side to get him to move! He deserves a few games off.

That was on purpose. Dangerous game that Ryan’s playing. Should be good for a couple of games.
