True to form, Marchand learned *nothing* from his suspension. Maybe Julien and Chiarelli can spend another week defending this dirty play by their dirty player.

Hockey stops being fun for anyone involved (fans, players) when a particular player is running around intending to injure their opponent.

Marchand is a world class creep. I just watched him cross check someone in the back of the head like six times. That being said, it’s the refs and the league who are enabling this kid. If they don’t stop his crap he’s gonna end someones career. Personally i’d like to see someone beat the snot out of him, ala Darren Mccarty. Don’t really care if he fights back or not.

Yeah, Marchand should be suspended for that, no doubt. Dangerous play.

Suspensions aren’t a sufficient deterrent.  Remove the instigator.

He did something similar in the third period.  A Canadian had him lined up for a hit and Marchand ducked and low bridged him. What a class act! If I went around bragging about how tough my team was(like the Bruins do) I’d be embarrassed he was on my team.

Worst part about it was it happened as time was expiring, so it was absolutely unnecessary.  He went out of his way to target the guy’s knee trying to injure him.  Classless.

Triple whatever he was given last time. That should send the message.

The fact that this hit is so similar to the Salo hit should mean that Marchand learned absolutely zero from that suspension. But I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he receives absolutely zero games for that hit, either.

Regardless of what Shanahan and his group may think, this will not receive much of a suspension.  After all Marchand plays for Boston which is owned by the garden gnome’s chief supporter amongst the owners.  He will probably get 3.  It should be 10.  Julien should get suspended for trying to defend such gutless slime as that guy.

Someone teach this kid how to hip check. There’s a legal “low-ish” hit and he’s nowhere near that.

The refs completely checked out of that game. It was rather embarrassing. They did call 2 on that one though.

Later in the game, Marchand gets a visit from PK Subban and limps away.

Emellin is making friends all over the League. Marchand was retaliating for the crunching hit he delivered on Thornton.

In spite of Marchand’s antics it was a terrific game… but yeah… he needs to sit about double the time as it’s the worst kind of bush league recidivism.

If he gets suspended, I just won’t be able to wait for the next Marchand blog entry.

Marchand’s new nickname: Tanya Harding

It’s instances like this where I see eye-to-eye with Brian Burke.

back side hit below the knees after the player has released the puck. I can see why Marchand may think he did nothing wrong he was just defendng himself!

Pretty much everyone agrees with you about the instigator, but to be honest… when stuff like that happens, someone should pound on the guy regardless of instigator.
