Video- Mike Green Takes A Shot To The Side Of His Head

As you can see, he needed a little assistance to get off the ice.

He has not returned to the game.

Hopefully he’s not hurt beyond the cut from puck and helmet. A lot of guys getting head injuries this season, both from checks, punches, and pucks.

On an unrelated topic, as I was watching the video, Brooks Orpik’s pant legs seem to be connected via an elastic band. Check around the 0:31 mark of the video. I know of power-skating resistance bands but they go around the ankles. Anyone know what this is for?

It amazes me that this doesn’t happen more often. I don’t know what is scarier though; getting a 98 mph high and tight brushback in baseball or standing in front of the goalie during a point shot thats going high and through traffic. Both would terrify me.

Awful.  Really hope he gets healthy and is able to come back from this.  It’s never a good thing, regardless of who it happens to and what team they play for, to see a guy injured like that.

I agree with you UMFan, it’s crazy that this doesn’t happen more often, especially with the way players are blocking shots now.
