from David Staples of The Cult of Hockey,
There will be no decision on Ales Hemsky until the swelling subsides in his badly wounded shoulder, I’m hearing.
He will need surgery on the battered shoulder sooner or later, but it’s possible he could still keep playing, after some time off to recuperate from the latest blows and bruises, in the short term.
Hemsky has got a burning desire to compete, and to suit up for the Czech team this February in Vancouver, so if the surgery can be later, that will be his first choice. But something will have to be done and at that time he’ll be out for months.
added 9:36pm, Shoulder surgery will put Hemsky out for the regular season and possibly the playoffs.
