I love it.

Before the Caps started their run, hockey was not even on their radar.  Now they are talking about hockey as if it is important.  They are also talking about personalities like Leonsis, Boudreau and Ovechkin.

This is good news for the NHL.

Kornheiser is an absolute idiot re: hockey.

It may be good news for the NHL but as a Caps fan I just feel my whole body tense up every time these two idiots start pretending to understand or even like hockey.

I’ve had to sit through years of them not only badmouthing the Caps but hockey in general - on a daily basis they call it a stupid sport and tend to discuss it only when there is a big Bertuzzi-esque scandal they can use to prove how meaningless and violent it is. They don’t even know who the final two games were against and they LIVE in DC, they’re claiming Ovechkin shouldn’t be the MVP if the Caps miss the playoffs by a point or god forbid a tie…ridiculous.

They don’t get it, they don’t like it, and I’d prefer they didn’t even mention hockey at all rather than pull this kind of crap.

this is hilarious, the woman just sits there and nods like a complete idiot and they clearly know only the most superficial details about hockey. Listen to what they keep repeating, all they say is ovechkin, ovechkin, ovechkin. I would put money on it that they barely know anybody else on the team

These guys are total morons about hockey.  They should just keep their mouths shut and talk about other sports.

I don’t know why I submitted myself to this.  Really like everyone else here said, they know nothing, but choose to talk like they’re the be all end all of this argument.

Is is ‘hockey’ writers or ‘sports’ writers that vote on the Adams and Hart trophies? Regardless, I pray these dolts aren’t in the voting faction. Kornheiser will probably go to the game against the Panthers tomorrow wearing his dusted-off Jagr jersey.

This is ridiculous. Where in this video do Kornheiser and Wilbon insinuate that they are hockey experts? Listen closely to this video, they claim they are jumping on the bandwagon late, specifically Wilbon, and acknowledge that they are naive American hockey fans.

It’s unfortunate that they seem misguided about the current state of hockey, but this is exactly the kind of exposure hockey needs. Washington has a big star, and let’s hope Ovechkin can spark more regional interest in hockey.

Tony Kornheiser has always ripped hockey, but Wilbon is different.  He knows a bit about hockey, but had the misfortune to be subjected to the Bill Wirtz Blackhawks.

He may not know much about the Capitals, but he does know something about hockey in general - whether or not it comes across that well.

Wilbon played hockey growing up in Chicago.  He just hasn’t followed the sport at all since his childhood.  Kornheiser knows nothing about hockey.  But these aren’t hockey experts discussing the league.  This is the most important sports “opinion” show on television, and they are talking about hockey.  That’s what the game needs.

I could only stand a couple of minutes of this. Kornheiser was, is and always will be an obnoxious jerk.

Hockey doesn’t need these two and their daily televised shout-fest.

I’m just glad to see the Capitals rebounding. Washington used to be a great hockey town in the 80s and 90s. Lousy teams and a petulant Jagr drove away the fans earlier in this decade and I don’t blame them. Why support a team whose star player at the time didn’t care and whose ownership appeared (to the average fan) to be disinterested?

Now, they’re building back into a good team, one that with its young talent and with a bona fide superstar in Ovechkin could become a great team one day.

New fans are discovering, and old fans are rediscovering, just how good this Caps team is. They don’t need the monosyllabic morons at PTI to tell them that.

Good luck, Caps, I hope you make the playoffs this year!
