via Chris McCosky of the Detroit News,
There’s been some chatter on the internet hinting that the Red Wings were among the teams in Sweden this week to scout Peter Forsberg, who is healthy again and competing in the Karjala Cup tournament.
The Wings may very well be scouting that tournament, but I just exchanged emails with Ken Holland and he very clearly said the team had no interest in Forsberg.
Chris, I know you are new on the beat this season so a little bit of advice. The internet hinting comes from a guy who just wants hits on his website. Case closed.

Well, he had to learn somehow.
Of course, it could have been worse. He could have come out with one of those “OMFG!! Guess who’s coming to the Wings!” type of headlines and looked like an ass.

I think Forsberg has less interest in the Wings than the Wings have (and have had, in the past few years) in him.
And let’s be clear… I have no inside information, just my gut feeling—I’m not trying to Schlockey-Scuzz anyone.

Forsberg would have to clear waivers to head back to the NHL because he’s played for MoDo Ornskoldsvik, so any team that’s interested in him would lose him to a bottom-feeder.
