Like I was saying to my wife last night when she pointed out the Rangers’ defense isn’t actually very good still (which is true)—their forwards aren’t either. Naslund is worthless. Drury is lost on this team. Gomez can’t do anything to create or finish. Zherdev is a flake, Antropov is a physically-bigger flake, and Avery is a basketbase.
Where’s their secondary scoring supposed to come from for them? How can you say you stunk “defensively” when you got shut out by a rookie goalie making his first playoff start? That seems to imply you stunk offensively too. Not that Varlamov didn’t play well but, c’mon…
I’m still boggled how NYR won the first two games at all. WAS has serious flaws as well (their defense namely), but this Ranger team is EXACTLY like every other Ranger team has been for a couple decades now—overrated and overpaid.
