Western Conference Teams With Possible Issues

On Monday we looked at the team expected to finish in the top eight positions in the Western Conference standings. Here’s an analysis of the rest of the Western teams.
Calgary Flames. If “Kipper” regains his Vezina-winning form Calgary should be a playoff contender, but another sub-par performance by their top goalie and secondary scorers could douse the Flames.
Colorado Avalanche. The primary area of concern is in goal, where Peter Budaj and Andrew Raycroft attempt to prove once and for all they’re capable NHL starters. If they both struggle and the injury bug starts biting the roster again, the Avalanche postseason hopes could be in jeopardy.

It looks like Spector is drinking Oil flavoured kool-aid. Sorry, but I’m just not sold on a team that relied quite heavily on shootout and OT bonus points last season and put on a second half surge when the playoffs were out of the picture.
Eric Cole was a nice pickup, but the Kings gave up on Vishnovsky…I mean the Kings decided they would be better off without Vish on their team.
Yes, the Oil will be a fun team to watch, but fun in this case doesn’t translate into a NW division crown (in my opinion).
