from Jeff Gordon at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch,
But Davidson is sitting in much better position than he was two weeks ago. This upturn put the Blues back in the hunt and changed his perspective on the looming trade deadline.
There is no reason to bail now. Instead, Davidson can look for a defenseman-for-forward swap. He can also put some of his available budget room for 2008-09 to use, perhaps taking on a forward with remaining money (Alex Tanguay) or a pending free agent looking for long-term dollars.
The better the Blues play between now and Feb. 26, the better his options will be. They must keep grinding away toward the 96-point goal Murray has set for them.
