What To Do With Fake Twitter Accounts?

from Tarik El-Bashir of the Washington Post,
...as more people turn to Twitter to keep in touch with friends and follow their favorite celebrities, impostor accounts are becoming a concern for image-conscious athletes and causing confusion for others.
“My buddy Googled my name a while back, and he stumbled across [the fake account],” Schultz said. “He asked, ‘Do you have a Twitter account?’ I was like: ‘No.’ The fans, I’m sure, all know about it. What if someone puts up the wrong thing? People might get the wrong impression of the type of person you are or the things you do in your free time.”

I had a fake Twitter account a while ago that was disabled, coincidentally around June and the announcement of a sale.
*sigh*

Who really cares about fake Twitter accounts? It’s parody, like so many other things on the ‘net. Leave it alone.

Doesn’t Twitter have a rule that any parody account must be clearly indicated? The “Brian Burke” twitter had the line “Yes, it’s a parody” right on the initial page with the profile and the website of the actual blooger writing the tweets.
Maybe read the title page or profile page or whatever to see if it is fake or not?
