What Was Atlanta Thinking?

from Greg Brady at am640,
I don’t want to hack on Don Waddell. Really, I don’t. But in the NHL, there’s no GM who’s accomplished so very little, with such an opportunity with high picks and good young players, and for a while, the ability to spend money and not be a “budget” team for much of their existence.
But following the trade of the best player the franchise has ever had, and the most prolific NHL goalscorer since the 04/05 lockout, this insanity of the Atlanta Thrashers ownership continuing to employ him HAS to end.
Kovalchuk went to the New Jersey Devils, where he may become, officially, after his first shift against the Maple Leafs in Newark tomorrow night, the most exciting forward ever to wear a Devils jersey. I don’t think that’s a stretch - and I was a huge Randy McKay fan. Ahem.
