from Mike Brophy of Sportsnet,
Have you taken a peak at the NHL’s scoring leaders today? Where’s Sidney Crosby?
He’s not leading the league in scoring…not even in the top 10. Or top 20, for that matter.
Whoops, there he is… down, down, down. No. 23 squeezed between sophomore centre Steven Stamkos at No. 22 and Dallas Stars winger Loui Eriksson.
This is just not right.
continued and additional hockey topics too…

0 power play assists. That will not last.
He does have 6 (2-4) ponits in his last 4 games so he does seem to be getting back on track and back to his career 1.36 p.p.g. average.

He often starts out very good and not great, but I assure you he will go on a tear an end up in the top few scorers in the league.

Not even 10 games in, but writers still have to write about something. The Wings are done. The Avalanche are your Western Conference champions. Crosby won’t finish in the top 10 scorers.
Wake me up in January.
Aaron, that made me laugh.

Where is he? I don’t know, I guess he’s 1/8th of the way through a season.
Is the season really so slow that this is a story?
Like most people seem to be saying about the Wings’s start, THE SEASON ISN’T YET A MONTH OLD. This is NOT a story.

Why is this a surprise, he is not a top 10 goal scorer in the NHL and hasn’t been! 23rd is on par.
His ranking for goals scored in the past 4 years:
2008-2009 20th
2007-2008 65th*
2006-2007 16th
2005-2006 12th
*53 games played

...The Leafs won’t win a single game.
Oh wait, your listing things that probably won’t come true, my bad.
And Timbits, when they say “He’s not leading the league in scoring…not even in the top 10” they’re talking about points not goals. No one ever said Sid was a top goal scorer, he’s a playmaker who gets over 100 points playing with Colby Armstrong, Andy Hilbert, Chris Kunitz, and other 3rd liners
