from Steve Simmons of the Toronto Sun,
But what Cherry should be wondering—and what we should be wondering—is why he has not yet been recognized by the Hall. Like him or hate him, there is no disputing the impact Cherry has had on hockey.
In a country that is all about hockey, he owns the loudest voice and the most recognized face.

Kukla’s Korner is always a free service for readers, but it costs some money to maintain. If you’re ever in a position to donate a few dollars to help out, we’d be very appreciative.

Just because you have a loud voice and talk a lot does not mean the content is noteworthy. Cherry’s main observation of the SCF seemed to be that Gary Roberts wasn’t being played enough. Roberts’ most memorable moment was the blindsided sucker punch of Detroit’s Johan Franzen, hardly a proud moment for a player who has always been known to be a stand up guy. Cherry’s shtick wears thin, is predictable, and is not taken seriously by even Canadian sports fans. Cherry has turned to Sour Grapes.
And questioning Larionov’s selection in front of others merely because they had a longer NHL career? It is the HOCKEY Hall of Fame, NOT the NHL Hall of Fame. The writer has a common theme, Canada first, deserving or not.
