“Wes Walz has requested and been granted an indefinite leave of absence from the team.  We have no further details at this time.”

So that clears up everything.

The only thing I can again share with you for certain is I’ve been assured there is nothing else to this other than he’s re-examining his desire to continue playing. He’s perfectly fine health-wise and his family is OK. His teammates do not know what is going on. “We’d like some peace of mind,” one said today.
