Will Florida Play It Straight Tonight?

How about this scenario- Caps and Panthers tied with about one minute to go in regulation. Panthers coach Jaques Martin knows if the Caps get a point, they are in the playoffs.
Does he pull his goalie to try to get a regulation win which would prevent a playoff spot for the Caps?

Lets go Caps!

I could see him doing that if he had any particular fondness for Carolina or animosity toward Washington - otherwise, he’s probably just going for a win in overtime or by shootout to at least finish the season on a good note.

I dislike the panthers, but Go Panthers go!
For what its worth…

No No No, Florida is playing for themselves not Carolina or Washington… if they can take it to OT and get a win they will.
Why are you guys against the Caps making it? I think it would be terrific to see them make it - add some more excitement to the upcoming post season.

At the end of the second period and listening to the game on XM Radio, I have two comments.
1) How cool is it that two former Wings (Fleischmann and Fedorov) have the Caps two goals.
2) Someone needs to shoot the Caps rink announcer square between the eyes. We get it, dude. It was Fed…er…oooooooooooooooooooov that scored. Gag me with a composite.
Personally I’m hoping for a Wings-Caps Cup Final. Great for the Wings and the Caps. Great for hockey.
Twenty minutes to go to decide who finishes third or ninth in the East. Crazy stuff!

Hockey just got a big boost with the Caps win over the Panthers. Here’s hoping we get to see them in the Cup Finals. We’ll win, of course, but it’ll be great for both clubs (and for hockey) anyway.

I hope the ref’s play it straight. After some strange calls in the Caps last game (and others) and a 0-9 disadvantage to Florida in penalty calls last night I hope the ref’s don’t make up for it tonight.
