from Curtis Zupke of the OC Register,
Tonight could be the final game for Niedermayer and Teemu Selanne. Both are playing out one-year contracts and, in what has become an annual occurrence, will decide their future in the coming weeks.
Niedermayer, 36, and Selanne, 39, each said he has not talked with General Manager Bob Murray about when they will decide their future, but the team would like them to do so before the June draft.
“I’m sure I’ll come to a decision quickly,” Niedermayer said. “I’ll decide before then.”
In the aftermath of missing the postseason for the first time since 2004, the Ducks are in store for an intriguing summer, and Niedermayer sets their offseason strategy in motion.
He has been critical of his play this season. His minus-12 rating is the worst of his career, although that likely has to do with the struggling team play.
