from Spector’s Blog at Fox Sports,
The NHL’s salary cap for next season is expected to flat-line and remaing around $56. 7 million and it is expected to drop substantially in 2010-11.
That’s going to make life interesting for this summer’s crop of restricted free agents both in re-signing lucrative new contracts with their current teams or attracting offer sheets from rivals.
Here’s a list of this summer’s most notable NHL RFAs:
ANAHEIM DUCKS: Erik Christensen, James Wisniewski.
ATLANTA THRASHERS: Colby Armstrong, Kari Lehtonen.
BOSTON BRUINS: Phil Kessel, David Krejci.

I think that’s true Primis… I also heard that “Johnny Appleseed” is loosely based on Ericsson’s life… except the part about apples and the other part about not destroying opposing forwards.

Ericsson. He is 6-friggin’-5. A brick wall of proportions previously thought unfathomable. A mobile brick wall, that does all the smashing instead of waiting for the smash.

I thought Ericsson signed a 3 year deal last summer ? After all, Wings management is fully aware that he stands at 6 feet 5 inches tall.

Kari Lehtonen stays with the Thrashers; that guy manhandled the Caps last night.

I’m pretty sure Jon Ericsson is eligible to be a RFA of some class because he didn’t play enough NHL games this season, and som eteam will take a run at him, remembering Kyle Quincey.
You know, he’s 6’5”.
