How many former owners are hitting the skids in the court system right now? Two, three? Bettman and the BOGs are trying to get us to believe that “lack of character”, or whatever, is what’s keeping Basille from owning a team? At least he has been obvious about his intentions from day one. Not to mention, it’s not like the company that makes the Blackberry is going to go broke anytime soon.
Well, the one thing in Basille’s favor is even if he loses on the Yotes, there are going to be a few more teams up for sale or bankrupt soon. I’m looking at Tampa, Atlanta, and possibly the Islanders right now. Eventually, he’s going to be the only one to show up with money in hand to buy a team.
