Window Closing On Heatley Trade

from Chris Stevenson of the Ottawa Sun,

Sources indicated yesterday that while Heatley refused to waive his no-movement clause on June 30 and agree to a deal that would have sent him to the Oilers, he has not “officially” rejected Edmonton as a destination.

But an NHL source indicated yesterday the Oilers’ patience is wearing thin to have Heatley agree to a deal and they could give up and move on perhaps as early as today.

At this point, the Oilers appear to be the only viable trade option. With Edmonton out of the picture, returning to Ottawa and an ugly reception from fans could be the Heatley camp’s only option.

Once again I’ll say it.

It speaks VOLUMES that Edmonton is the only way out, and Heatley refuses to take it.  He’d apparently rather continue to “suffer” in OTT then be sent to hel—Edmonton.

How much more “official” can he make it? Take a hint!

I hope Edmonton does pull the offer off the table adn stop groveling.  It’s embarassing.

I don’t have an idea what Heatley is like, but because he wants so badly out of his contract and doesn’t accept the only real offer because apparently he was (from reports) holding out for the Rangers or the Sharks ... if you want out that badly, then stop picking and choosing where you want to go.  If Edmonton isn’t good enough just by not being Ottawa, then you clearly can’t be that badly off right now with the Seanators.

He comes off as immature and petulant - and not very intelligent.
