from John Kreiser of NHL.com,
Three teams had the chance to sweep their second-round Playoff series. The Detroit Red Wings were the only ones to succeed — and they made it look easy.
The Wings completed a sweep of the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday night with an 8-2 victory. Johan Franzen had his second three-goal game of the series and Henrik Zetterberg added two goals and two assists as Detroit blew the game open with three goals in less than four minutes beginning late in the first period.
Watch the highlight goal by Zetterberg below and added game highlights too…

Wow! Beauty goal by Zata. Blind backhand swat. Barring injuries, Detroit seems almost a cut above the field in the Stanley cup play-offs. Hopefully the Sharks can rough up the sharks before postponing the inevitable WCF.

Oops, meat Sharks rough up Stars. Either way, it looks like Detroit will battle Pens or Flyers for Stanley cup. =)

“That’s a great hockey team over there,” Sakic said of the Red Wings. “They’re deep throughout their lineup and they really played well as a team. Every player was going and they exposed us out there.”
Joe Sakic has a lot of class.
I hope he plays a few more years.
He is, no doubt, a first ballot hall-of-famer.

In case anyone was forced to watch the Versus feed, what Glen Healy was saying when the clip finished is that Lebda had just come off the ice for Lidstrom, but when he saw the play, Lidstrom jumped back off the ice and let Lebda come on, so that Lebda would get the plus on his +/-. Classy, classy move.
