Chris Osgood is the consummate team player. Steady, composed, a cool customer. I like to refer to him as our Silver Lining. He is the #1! No doubt about it.  Lets Go Red Wings!!!!!

Yeah, Nick’s goal did take some life out of NSH—that and the outstanding 5 on 3 PK!!

Wings defense has been outstanding all series—just more noticable now with Ozzy making EVERY save.

Mickey Redmond pointed out in the post game that Lidstrom planned the shot on goal.  He said notice his follow through, which wasn’t complete and he actually tried to put a knuckle ball like shot on goal.

About a minute later, Lidsstrom was interviewed in the lockerroom and did say he planned the shot, it was not a normal, full shot on net.

Nick said that given the fact that the ice was bad and that Ellis butterflies on every shot, he really was hoping that the puck would do what it did—hit a bad spot and pop over his shoulder.  To me, that’s Lidstrom’s immense skill level summed up succinctly—all of those little Lidstrom-isms that seem so nonchalant and simple are actually well thought-out and practiced.  He works very hard to make the game look very easy, and he earns every bounce.
