from George Sipple of the Detroit Free Press,
Holland said he spoke to Bill Zito, the agent for Valtteri Filppula, earlier today and “we’re still talking.”
“We’re exploring if we should do long-term or if it makes sense to do short-term and re-address it two years from now,” Holland said. “Unless things are completely off-kilter, I would anticipate negotiating a settlement” before the Aug. 1 arbitration hearing.”
Holland said he planned to talk to the agents for goaltender Jimmy Howard and defenseman Kyle Quincey tonight and said he made an offer to defenseman Jonathan Ericsson “a while back.”

Didn’t even realized Jay Woodcroft left as well. Huh…
Paul MacLean should be able to return and be the First Assistant Coach. I think Joey Kocur comes back as the video coach, I betcha.

Kukla’s Korner is always a free service for readers, but it costs some money to maintain. If you’re ever in a position to donate a few dollars to help out, we’d be very appreciative.

So McLellan took Jay Woodcroft with him?
Thank goodness he didn’t take Al Sobotka or, worse yet, Karen Newman!
