Defenceman Kyle Quincy was placed on waivers on Saturday.

Hmmm…..so how does the waiver-wire work when we’re only a week into the regular season? Still based on last season’s standings? I find it really hard to believe Holland couldn’t at least get a pick for him. Wish him all the best, though.

Yeah, it’s last season. George Malik is saying Tampa has first crack- and they’d be crazy not to pick up a young kid like Quincey with a bright future…

He has a NHL future as a 4-7 guy, depending on the team. Hope you have a long career in the East brother.

Kyle got caught up in the numbers game in Detroit. On the positive side for him, he’ll get picked up by some team who has room for him. On the postive side for the Wings, Kyle would never have been more than a #5 defenseman…and they have a number of those guys already in the organ-I-zation.
So, thanks Kyle, for your efforts, and here’s hoping someone in the East picks you up so we don’t have to face you anytime soon.
