The NHL and the Blackhawks will release ticket information to Hawks season ticket-holders Tuesday afternoon regarding the Winter Classic on Jan. 1 at Wrigley Field.
There are three price ranges for tickets: $75, $225 and $325.
On Monday, the NHL will announce more information regarding ticket sales to non-season ticket-holders.

In all honesty it’s not surprising, though how they handle season ticket holders will be intriguing.
When many Ottawa season ticket holders bought their tickets, there was a guarantee of 41 home games, but then the Swedish start was announced, and that number was reduced by one. Initially, the Sens offered a number of alternative options, ranging from replacement tickets to highly coveted games, to multiple replacement tickets to slow selling games. In the end, as they should rightly have always made easy, refunds were made available, though not without much hoop jumping.
I take a look at the Hawks’ seating chart, and I understand the non-immediate ticket. $25 for game day premium seats, undoubtedly much less on a per-game basis for season ticket holders, whereas the Winter Classic tickets start at $75.
What would be a good move by the organization would be for them to offer season ticket holders the chance to buy seats by paying the difference. Not just the face value difference, but rather with a season ticket discount worked in. So if I paid $10 a seat per game as a season ticket holder for tickets that are $15 to general fans, that’s a 33% discount. If I wanted to get a Winter Classic ticket, the Classy move would be to offer fans the chance to pay the difference, obtaining a Winter Classic ticket for $75 minus 33%, or $50.
I hope I’m wrong in fearing that there will be no option of that kind available, or that all options will be money-grubbing or otherwise-empty-seat-filling in nature, but we will just have to wait and see. This is what you can do if the Hawks aren’t so kind, but for now let’s assume that every bit of class available to the Hawks is shown in this situation.

Wait...season ticket holders don’t automatically get tickets with their ST package...? That’s not cool.
