World According to Cherry

From Ryan Kennedy at The Hockey News:

Sid the Kid needs to chill out: Cherry believes Sidney Crosby has trouble pacing himself on the ice, in the same way Bobby Orr did. “He will not back down and that’s how he gets hurt and he’s breaking down,” Cherry said. “That’s why he’s tired now, he just can’t keep that pace. John Tavares will play in the NHL for 20 years because he knows how to pace himself.”

Ovie has a license to kill:
True, he’s the most dynamic player in the league, but Alex Ovechkin also has a tendency to hit from behind every once in a while and throws his body around more than any other star. Cherry believes this is because there’s no accountability…

So…basically Cherry wants to rub baby oil on those fine, lusty Canadian boys and thinks European players are all Godless communists who are ruining hockey.

This is news?

Cherry’s schtick got old sometime around the beginning of the Reagan administration.

Maybe Chipmunk boy, is tired and breaking down because he’s not the God that he is made out to be by the stupid NHL media.

Cherry is entertaining but I guess what he’s saying is Cindy Crosby is tired…and Ovechkin doesn’t fight…that’s why the game is going to helllllll

Cherry’s perfect game:  Penguins versus Capitals.  Ovechkin runs around like the mad russian he is until Sidney Crosby valiantly stands up to him and delivers some punches* that sets him straight.

*NOT to the groin, for a change.
