from the News & Observer,
The Canes’ Rod Brind’Amour, the oldest player on the team at 39, said today that no decision has been on his future with the team.
Brind’Amour had his exit interview today but said he would talk with general manager Jim Rutherford at a later date about next season. “I want to hear what they tell me. I respect Jim a lot.,” he said….
Brind’Amour signed a contract extension after the Canes’ run to the 2006 Stanley Cup. He is to be paid $3 million next season, although with a cap hit of $3.6 million, and the Canes could buy out the final year for $2 million.
