At least there is no Don Koharski, he of the phantom Datsyuk call last year.

No Kelly Sutherland either, he of the phantom goalie interference calls on Holmstrom (WCF game 4 this year and a regular season game vs. Anaheim).

The call in that Feb 10 Anaheim game was actually by O’Halloran, who’s in the finals:

Devorski was also responsible for a whopper of a bad (non)call. Another chapter in the Wing’s fabulous February:

Hope the netting saved a fan, because it killed Detroit

I don’t recall any really egregious mistakes by Watson or Joanette...but it’s never too late to start.

Here’s the Wings’ record with each of the four refs (note that there is considerable overlap with Watson and Joanette in the playoffs, they were paired for rounds 2 and 3):

Regular Season
Devorski 0-2-0
O’Halloran 5-2-0
Watson 4-1-1
Joanette 4-0-0

Playoffs
Devorski 2-0
O’Halloran 1-1
Watson 3-0
Joanette 4-0

Pens’ playoff record with these refs (didn’t track regular season, damned if I will go back and do it now):

Devorski 4-0
O’Halloran 2-0
Watson 2-1
Joanette 1-1

One interesting point that I noticed in looking at this...in Detroit’s four losses, their PIM totals were 6, 14, 8, and 12. Pittsburgh’s PIM in their two losses were 38 and 35. Looks like somebody gets a little grumpy when they don’t get their way?

Thanks shep. Though now I have a reason (excuse?) to break out my stash of Jose Cuervo - in addition to forgetting about February via hard liquor.

Interesting point about PIMs in losses for the two teams. I’m curious to know who took the bulk of the penalties for Pittsburgh in their losses. Top two lines? Fourth line? Spread out fairly evenly?
