from Steve Gorten of the Sun-Sentinel,
Richard Zednik will not play for the Florida Panthers or any other NHL team next season.
Zednik, 33, has signed a two-year contract with Russian Superleague team Lokomotiv Yaroslavl, the team reported on its Web Site on Thursday. An NHL source confirmed the report.

I think we can safely say at this point he has no business winning the Masterton. He can’t even stay in North America… give it to Sullivan.

I just don’t get it. After what happened to Cherepov (sp?), we see how bad the medical care is at the rinks in Russia and players still want to go there!?!?!? I mean, what would have been the outcome if Zednik gut his throat sliced in Russia. He might not have survived!

it cherepanov buddy, kinda hard spelling, secondly his cause of death is still disputed. he hasbeen accused of taking illegal substances and he was playing with myocarditis a condition in which not enough blood get to the heart and therefore he was not supposed to be playing hockey or other sports

Nice way to say thanks to an organization that saved your life. If that had happened in Russia, he would be as good as gone.
As a hockey fan, I hate to see any good players leaving the NHL for the KHL or any other league. Jagr left way too early. I dont even want to know how much Nashville fans are hating the KHL right now.
