Konopka received five for boarding, a ten and game misconduct for this hit on Artem Anisimov.

Yeah, this was a ridiculous call. Anisimov put himself in a vulnerable position and Konopka’s hit was not blindside.
I think based on the letter of the rule, a boarding minor would have been sufficient.. if even that.

Horrible call. Commentators called it a “hit from behind” almost a dozen times, too.
Welp, Rangers just lost in OT so the injustice of the two Ranger pp goals wasn’t as big as it could have been.

Wolski’s hit was the one that should have been given a major. This one didn’t even deserve a 2 minute minor.

Anisimov was on the ice in the resulting power play. He is a faker.
The hit was from the SIDE, CLEARLY, and Anisimov turned away at the last second.
2 minute boarding penalty, MAYBE.
5 Minute major? Gave the game away.
