Eager Suspended For Three Games

NEW YORK/TORONTO (March 21, 2009) – Chicago Blackhawks forward Ben Eager has been suspended for three games, without pay, for a blow to the head of an unsuspecting player during NHL Game #1068 against the Edmonton Oilers on March 20, the National Hockey League announced today
The incident occurred at 7:30 of the third period and involved Oilers forward Liam Reddox. No penalty was assessed.

Eager Gets Three Games

TORONTO (October 8, 2008) – Chicago Blackhawks left wing Ben Eager has been suspended for three games, without pay, as a result of being assessed a match penalty during NHL pre-season game #81 against the Dallas Stars, October 2, the National Hockey League announced today.
At 9:45 of the third period, Eager was assessed a match penalty for attempt to injure Dallas player Sean Avery. At the time of the incident, Eager was on the players’ bench and swung his stick in the direction of Avery, who was on the ice.

The Philadelphia Flyers have acquired defenseman Jim Vandermeer from the Chicago Blackhawks.

Blackhawks General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the Blackhawks have obtained left wing Ben Eager from the Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for defenseman Jim Vandermeer. “We wanted a high energy player for our fourth line and Ben Eager is that kind of player,” Tallon said. “He is just 23 years old, he can skate and heis a very gritty player.”
