via TSN,
The NHL has fired Phoenix Coyotes president, Doug Moss.
He will be replaced by internal candidate, Mike Nealy.
Moss had been the Coyotes’ President since December, 2002. Prior to that, he had been a Senior Vice-President with the Anaheim Ducks, and President and CEO of the International Hockey League.
Nealy, who joined the Coyotes in 2006, was an Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer for the club. Prior to joining Phoenix, he had worked in finance with the Minnesota Wild.

GLENDALE, ARIZONA—- Mike Nealy today was named Chief Operating Officer of the Phoenix Coyotes. Nealy, who had been the Coyotes’ Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, replaces Doug Moss, who has left the organization to pursue other business opportunities.
“On behalf of the National Hockey League, I send thanks to Doug for his devoted service to the team, the fans and to Jobing.com Arena,” said NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly. “We wish Doug the best as he moves on to a new chapter in his career.”
Nealy joined the Coyotes on January 30, 2006 after spending four years as Vice President of Finance and Corporate Controller with the Minnesota Wild and Minnesota Sports & Entertainment. As Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Nealy was responsible for overseeing all of the Finance and Administration functions for the Coyotes and Jobing.com Arena and most recently also played a leadership role with Sales and Marketing. He also served as Treasurer on the board for Coyotes Charities.

from Jim Gintonio of Ice Chips at the Arizona Republic,
Infused with hope after a judge’s decision to keep the Coyotes in the Valley, team President Doug Moss is optimistic about the future.
“As the league said, they don’t give up on their franchises, they don’t give up on their markets,” he said. “I think that the next step is for the league to conduct an auction process and find and owner who wants to operate this team in Glendale and be a success.”
A September auction is likely, and four bidders could be in the mix. The team needs a new owner to step up and make a commitment to keep the team in the Valley—and one who is willing to make some bold moves in the free agency arena.
It will be interesting to see if more than the die-hard hockey fans appreciate an NHL team. This season’s attendance will go a long way in determining that.

He says all this talk about moving the team north of the border makes for a tough situation. “You love Canada and you’d love to come back to Canada, but you’ve been in (Phoenix) for a long time so it makes for a delicate situation.”
