via the Dallas Stars Blog,
Stars forward Mark Parrish put his head down to control a pass from Brian Sutherby when he was blindsided by hard charging Jay McKee at center ice. The highlilght reel hit sent Parrish crumbling to the ice. He got to his knees, tried to get up but instead waited for assistance.

Stars Get Zubov Back, Parrish Makes Debut

from Tracey Myers of the Star-Telegram,
Defensive partner Matt Niskanen said it best at Thursday’s practice: “Everybody had a smile on their face today, and he’s got a lot to do with it.”
That’s the effect that Sergei Zubov has on this team. He should make his season debut tonight, and it couldn’t come at a better time. The Stars need his calm during this stormy start. They need his veteran leadership on and off the ice. And they definitely need his fantastic play....
Newly acquired right wing Mark Parrish said he couldn’t wait to get into a game situation, and he’ll get his chance tonight. He’s someone who wants to prove he has a place in this league, and that could lead to some good work fast.

“I try to work my whole career to become a guy that has a reputation, as a person and what kind of player I am. I felt that I had gotten there, and when something like this happens, no matter what it is — whether it’s just business, whether it’s personal, we don’t really know — once the label ‘buyout’ is on you, then the questions start coming,” Parrish said.
“I worked my butt off for this, and now I have to put up with this crap. It’s irritating, but that’s the business.”

Mark Parrish- Plan B Option

from Russo’s Rants,
I talked to a reporter from the Team 1040 in Vancouver today, and agent John Vollan confirmed to him that the Canucks have shown interest.
Parrish just has to stay patient. Remember, two of the teams interested in him have other things pending and he’s Plan B. In other words, if Mats Sundin turns down Vancouver’s reported $10 million-a-year offer or simply retires, Parrish will get an offer. If Radulov indeed does not return to the Predators, Parrish will likely receive an offer from Craig Leipold’s old team.

Where Could Parrish Land

from Russo’s Rants,
L.A.’s under the cap floor, but Terry Murray’s the coach now. Parrish played for him in Florida, so I’m sure it’ll be like, “been there, done that.”
However, Terry’s older bro, Bryan, is the GM in Ottawa, and Bryan traded for Parrish is Florida.
Maybe he goes back to the Islanders? He’s buddies with GM Garth Snow. Vancouver definitely needs offense and has plenty of cap room, so maybe he reunites with Pav. Atlanta and Phoenix are just above the cap floor.

From Michael Russo at Russo’s Rants,
According to an NHL source, the Wild has placed Bloomington-born, Plymouth resident Mark Parrish on waivers.
If he clears the 24-hour waivers, it is likely he will be bought out of the remaining three years of his contract and will become a free agent.
Parrish spent much of his two seasons with his hometown Wild in Jacques Lemaire’s doghouse.
