Hello, Kukla readers, and check out my new digs in the Kukla Empire O’ Blogs! Hopefully, most of you know who I am. If you don’t, here’s a quick introduction: I’ve been covering the NHL on various sites for more than a decade, including Rivals.com (when they had money and covered pro leagues) and Sports Central. My blog started in 2004 and I started contributing to FoxSports.com in late 2006.
Not too much will change now that my blog has been absorbed into the Kukla Empire. I’ll still have a combination of rants, observations, Photoshop fun, and column-style posts that will simultaneously be featured on FoxSports.com. I’ll still make references to indie rock, sci-fi, and video games, and I’ll still offer a greater bias to the San Jose Sharks in post quantity but keep things pretty general most of the time. (You can check out my contributions to Battle of California for more Sharks-related stuff.)
There will also be the odd non-hockey post involving music or movie reviews (especially during the off-season). Thanks to the brave new world of the Kukla Empire, I’m coming up with some creative ways to integrate some of my non-hockey interests with the NHL. I still have to figure out if I can pull this off, but I think it’ll work and I think it’ll be a cool way to mash worlds together.
Oh, and if you’re curious—my moving over to Kukla had nothing to do with the server outage that ravaged my blog’s old location and my freelance writing website for the past month. The archive of my old blog should be restored sometime, though I’m not sure when. Apparently, “within a few days” has different meaning to web hosts than to those of us in the real world.
Brief aside: If you’re looking for a web host, I know a company that really sucks and that you should stay away from. Contact me if you’d like more info.
There’s still a little bit of housecleaning to be done here, so look for this layout to change slightly as I customize a few things here and there. Other than that, regular posting commences now and I feel pretty honored to be sharing web space with such a talented group of hockey writers.

Lookin’ good, Mike! If you’re looking for a good graphic artist, I can definitely draw you a nice-looking cartoon with a Duck eating a Shark.

Ignore my friend Jeff. He’s just mad because I exposed him to such great music in college. (Seriously!)

Nice to see that you are back up and running, even if it is on Kuklas. Just keep me up to date on any Robotech news and I won’t hold it against you.
