Who Hurts More: Dallas or Vancouver?

Both the Dallas Stars and Vancouver Canucks lost some important guys in their lineup over the past few days. We don’t know the extent of Roberto Luongo’s injury, but two things are certain: 1) he’ll be out a significant amount of time and 2) groin injuries on goalies can bother them off and on all year. It’s not going to be as ugly as having Brenden Morrow out for the whole season but it’s not a whole heck of a lot better.

With that in mind, it’ll be a critical December for both teams as they try to figure out their way without their respective captains. Here’s two pretty self-explanatory polls on this issue:

The questions are a bit ambiguous though.  Which team will suffer more in December without its Captain?  It’s not exactly asking the importance of Luongo or Morrow as players, but as leaders.  The Nyucks will do just fine without Luongo as their leader, but the loss of Luongo the goalie is probably going to be an insurmountable problem.

this is a pretty dumb poll.  Obviously luongo is more important to his team.  The same thing goes for Brodeur as well.

1) The Stars seemed toast even before the injury to Morrow so this won’t upend their season, just grease the skids a bit more
2) It’ll be intersting to see how the canucks react/do here. So far the Devils are at least treading water without Marty.  We doubt they can do so for long, but so far they are still in the playoff race in the admittedly weaker Eastern Conference
